»Of Peace and Police: Household Discipline, State Punishment, and Global Governance«Markus Dubber is Professor of Law at the University of Toronto. He is editor-in-chief of Critical Analysis of Law: An International & Interdisciplinary Law Review and the Oxford Handbooks Online: Law.
At present he is, on the invitation of Professor Klaus Günther and the Cluster of Excellence »The Formation of Normative Orders« a Fellow at the Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften.
About the project
This is an attempt at a critical analysis of the concept of peace in Western legal-political thought and practice from a comparative-historical perspective, from the householder’s power to protect the peace of his household through the sovereign’s maintenance of the peace of the commonwealth to the pursuit of world peace.
