rnAm 14. Januar 2011 flüchtete der tunesische Diktator Ben Ali aus seinem Land. Am 20. Oktober 2011 wurde der libysche Diktator Gaddafi getötet. Am 7. November 2011 ließ der marokkanische König Mohammed VI. nach einer Verfassungsänderung Parlamentswahlen in seinem Land durchführen. In seinem Vortrag untersucht Professor Ali-Ridha Chennoufi (Universität Tunis) die Demokratisierungsprozesse in Nordafrika, die durch die »Jasminrevolution« in Tunesien, die gewaltsame Revolution in Libyen und die vom Monarchen initiierte Verfassungsänderung in Marokko vorangetrieben wurden. Wer sind die jeweiligen Akteure des Umbruchs und worin bestehen ihre Motive? Welche Rolle spielen die islamistischen Parteien, die in allen drei Ländern auf demokratischem Wege an die Macht gekommen sind? Welche Interessen verfolgen ausländische Mächte in der Region?
