Abstract:
rnrnDie visuelle Soziologie beziehungsweise die sozialwissenschaftliche Bildhermeneutik hat in den letzten Jahren einen bemerkenswerten internationalen Aufschwung erfahren. In ihm kommt das Bedürfnis zum Ausdruck, der soziologischen Forschung wieder einen Bereich zugänglich zu machen, der bisher primär in der Kunst- und Medienwissenschaft eine entsprechende Aufmerksamkeit gefunden hat. Ausgehend von Georg Simmels Programm einer „Soziologie der Sinne“ und Walter Benjamins Bestimmung des Kunstwerks im Zeitalter seiner technischen Reproduzierbarkeit soll in diesem Workshop das ausgelotet werden, wofür ein auf den Blick konzentriertes neues soziologisches Forschungsprogramm stehen könnte. Die „Wirklichkeit der Bilder“ (Ludwig Klages) wird im Rahmen dieses Workshops dabei anhand eines profanen Gebrauchs unterschiedlicher Medien wie der Fotografie, des Films, der Architektur und bestimmter Raumkonstellationen exemplarisch untersucht und den Blick darauf richten, was jenseits der Ebene des Textes beziehungweise Diskurses ebenfalls einen Anspruch auf Bedeutsamkeit zu stellen vermag.
