Wissenschaftliches Profil von Anne MeneleyAnne Meneley, Professorin für Anthropologie an der Trent University in Kanada, promovierte 1993 an der New York University in Anthropologie. Sie hat Feldforschungen unter anderem in Palästina, der Republik Jemen, Singapur, New York und Italien durchgeführt. Zu ihren Forschungsschwerpunkten zählen die Produktion, der Vertrieb und der Konsum von Olivenöl in Italien und Palästina sowie Autoethnografien über akademische Praktiken. Ihr Buch über die kompetitive Gastfreundschaft von Frauen im Jemen, Tournaments of Value: Sociability and Hierarchy in a Yemeni town (1996), erschien 2016 in einer Jubiläumsausgabe.
