Board of Directors
Church historian Irene Dingel accepts the baton from Gisela Trommsdorff on the board of directors of the Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften
In November 2020, the board of directors of the Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften bid farewell to Gisela Trommsdorff .The chair of the board, Goethe University President Professor Birgitta Wolff, gratefully acknowledged Trommsdorff's eight years of commitment to the academic steering committee of the Forschungskolleg where she championed the close cooperation with the Werner Reimers Foundation and, in particular, the continuation of the interdisciplinary, scholarly conversation that is the tradition of the Foundation, on whose advisory and governing bodies she served for many years, most recently as a member of the board of directors. Gisela Trommsdorff is professor emeritus at the University of Konstanz, where she heads the division on developmental psychology and cross-cultural comparison, and a fellow at the German Institute for Economic Research, Berlin (DIW).

At the same time, the board appointed Irene Dingel to the board of directors. The renowned church historian is a professor of church history and history of dogma at the University of Mainz and has been director of the Leibniz Institute for European History in Mainz since 2005. She is very familiar with the working methods and objectives of the Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften as an Institute for Advanced Studies - not least because she was a fellow at the Kolleg in 2017. The board of directors is pleased that she has agreed to take on this position. Due to her work in large academic institutions, she brings great expertise in the area of research development and planning. Dingel's membership on the board of directors of the Forschungskolleg is also a great asset in terms of expanding cooperation with institutions engaged in cutting-edge research in the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main area.
