»The Past Future of European (Post-) Democracy«
Projektbeschreibung
My research project intends to question the originalities and the use of the »post-democracy« concept to specify how it can help to understand what kind of »democratic deficit« the EU is currently confronted to: to what extent does this concept regenerate the well-defined and already overmanned studies on »the democracy crisis«? Moreover, I should also put forward an internal criticism in order to determine whether the synthesis it is trying to implement between democracy and non-democracy proves to be convincing: do the post-democratic ambivalences help us to better map the contradictions specific to the democratic puzzle, especially in the EU specific case?
Wissenschaftliches Profil
Aliénor Ballangé hat 2018 an der Sciences Po Paris mit einer Arbeit über »L’Invention de Bruxelles. L’intégration européenne: par le people ou pour le peuple?« promoviert. Von 2017 bis 2018 lehrte sie als Teaching Fellow an der Sciences Po Paris und von 2018 bis 2020 an der Sciences Po Bordeaux.
